Between the movie in the past few years and the new PBS show, Curious George has seen a resurgence of interest. Those of us who are older obviously remember him mostly from the books.
But, despite the new rise in popularity, there still isnt much out there for decorating a toddler bedroom. Kind of surprising. (Youd think I would be used to this by now, but it still surprises me every time when popular characters get left out of the bedding game.)
And since bedding is the core decorative item in most rooms not to mention the easiest way to start the theme were left with having to figure out plan B for this Curious George bedroom plan.
The color scheme for Curious George is pretty straight forward and taken from the colors most used on the older books. Now, you could go with a different blue shade to paint the walls like sky or a lighter or brighter yellow as you choose. But these are the basic colors to start with yellow, red, blue and brown.
For the most part, yellow is always used in the backgrounds, so you could choose to make it a focal color or a background, accent color. If you go with yellow on the walls, consider a red comforter against dark brown furniture, then red and blue accents in the rest of the room.
When deciding where to use which color, keep in mind the other decor items you might use, since those are the places youll be most likely to get actual images of Curious George.
Curious George Bedding
The only place Ive ever seen bedding specific to this theme is over at Pottery Barn Kids. Its really cute, but not necessarily that cheap. You can get the theme for a lot less with some of my other suggestions below.
UPDATE: And its gone now. Poo. But Ive left the pretty pictures for you. ??

Given the color scheme laid out in the books, pretty much any primary colored bedding would work for this room, including some cute plaids. Me, Im partial to yellow since that is the main color used outside of the brown of Georges fur. Or you could go with yellow walls and then red for the bedding.
Here are a few yellow bedding choices that would work well as a starting point for the room. Some of them are also available in red if youd rather go that route.
